Base Gray would not look the way it does without the help of photographer and friend, Melly Lee. I've known Melly for several years and being in the same creative circles, you can be sure we collaborated many times. Not only is Melly super capable and resourceful with her gear, but she also has an extremely fine-tuned eye for style and originality.

The Base Gray shoot was seriously minimal (which seems perfectly fitting to be honest). We roamed the streets of downtown LA in the early hours of the day to avoid people and traffic. Most of the shots were dictated by natural lighting and texture. Since we were essentially shooting just one product, we looked for environments that made for interesting interactions with the shirt and surrounding elements. Within the short time that we shot, Melly captured some amazing imagery that I couldn't be happier with.

Melly's lent her talents to many friends that are artists as well. Every time I see her work, I'm blown away by the scenes she's captured. From her photos, it feels like nothing is ever "too crazy" for Melly– and that's truly inspiring.
